ODESSA, TEXAS/AUGUST 30, 2017/OPD – THE ODESSA POLICE DEPARTMENT, ALONG WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THE UNITED STATES MARSHAL SERVICE AND ECTOR COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, HAS MADE FOUR ARRESTS IN CONNECTION TO AN AGGRAVATED ROBBERY THAT OCCURRED AT BIG LOTS ON AUGUST 26, 2017.

DAMON BARS, 19 YEARS OF AGE, DEVORJAY TINNER, 19 YEARS OF AGE, MICHAEL STOGLIN, 20 YEARS OF AGE, AND ASHTON KENIMER, 19 YEARS OF AGE.

ON AUGUST 26, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:48 PM, ODESSA POLICE RESPONDED TO BIG LOTS LOCATED AT 3118 ANDREWS HIGHWAY.

DISPATCH ADVISED OPD OFFICERS THAT SHOTS HAD BEEN FIRED. OFFICERS MADE CONTACT WITH THE COMPLAINANT, WHO REPORTED THAT THREE MALE SUBJECTS ENTERED THE BUSINESS AND DEMANDED MONEY FROM THE CASH REGISTER WHILE FIRING ONE SHOT.

THREE SUSPECTS FLED THE SCENE WITH AND UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF CASH AND WERE LAST SEEN RUNINING NORTHBOUND IN THE ALLEY BEHIND BIG LOTS. THERE WERE NO REPORTS OF ANY INJURIES. FUTHER INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT A FOURTH SUSPECT WAS INVOLVED AS THE DRIVER OF THE SUSPECTS VEHICLE.

THE THREE MALE SUBJECTS HAD PURCHASE THE SAME MASKS USED IN THE ROBBERY APPROXIMATELY AN HOUR AND A HALF AT CVS. THROUGH THE COURSE OF THE INVESTIGATION ALL FOUR SUSPECTS WERE EVENTUALLY IDENTIFIED.

OPD DETECTIVES OBTAINED WARRANTS FOR ALL FOUR SUBJECTS AND WERE ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH THREE COUNTS OF AGGRAVATED ROBBERY “1ST DEGREE FELONY”. THE SUBJECTS ARE CURRENTLY AT THE ECTOR COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER.

THE FOUR OPD OFFICERS WILL BE IN HOUSTON FOR THE NEXT TEN DAYS TO HELP WITH THE HURRICANE EFFORTS.

TAMARA REEVES, 46 YEARS OF AGE, WAS LAST SEEN ON AUGUST 24, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 11:30 AM IN THE AREA OF THE MAGNUSON HOTEL AND DAYS INN HOTEL, THE 600 BLOCK OF SOUTH JBS PARKWAY.

TAMARA REEVES IS 5’3” TALL AND WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 110 POUNDS. REEVES WAS LAST SEEN WEARING A GREEN SHIRT AND BLUE JEANS. REEVES IS ORIGINALLY FROM THE BROWNWOOD AREA, BUT HAS BEEN STAYING IN ODESSA FOR THE LAST TWO MONTHS.

ODESSA, TEXAS, AUGUST 25, 2017 – THE ECTOR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT HELD THE FIRST OF TWO PUBLIC HEARINGS TO GET INPUT FROM COUNTY RESIDENTS REGARDING THE PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX INCREASE.

THE FIRST PUBLIC HEARING WAS SHORT IN DURATION, DUE TO NONE RESPONSE FROM THOSE THAT ATTENED THE MEETING.

“I’M DISAPOINTED THAT NO ONE ELSE SHOWED-UP, I FIGURED IT WOULD BE A FULL…I FIGURED THAT THERE WOULD BE A LOT OF PEOPLE HERE.

ECTOR COUNTY JUDGE RON ECKERT STATED THAT THE COUNTY RESIDENTS UNDERSTAND WHY THERE’S A NEED TO RAISE COUNTY TAXES.

ECTOR COUNTY RESIDENT, RUSS WRIGHT ATTENDED THE PUBLIC HEARING AND SAID THAT IT’S BETTER TO BE AND EDUCATED VOTER, BEFORE VOICING HIS OPINION ON THE TAX INCREASE, BUT FEELS THAT, MORE FOCUS ON THE BUDGET IS NEEDED BY THE COMMISSIONERS COURT.

ODESSA, TEXAS/AUGUST 24, 2017/OPD – ON AUGUST 20, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 4:05PM ODESSA POLICE RESPONDED TO EZ PAWN AT 1345 WEST UNIVERSITY IN REFERENCE TO A WANTED SUBJECT. THE CRIME STOPPERS TIP ADVISED THAT THE SUSPECT WAS OCCUPYING A RED CHEVROLET PICKUP WITH A BLUE FRONT PANEL.

OFFICERS OBSERVED A VEHICLE MATCHING THE SUSPECT’S DESCRIPTION, TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND ON NORTH COUNTY ROAD WEST. A TRAFFIC STOP WAS CONDUCTED ON THE LISTED VEHICLE AND THE DRIVER WAS ARRESTED FOR A MISDEMEANOR WARRANT. THE BACK PASSENGER OF THE LISTED VEHICLE WAS IDENTIFIED AS JOLEA KAMA DENNETT, 31 YEARS OF AGE.

OFFICERS FOUND DENNETT TO BE IN POSSESSION OF PROPERTY THAT HAD BEEN REPORTED STOLEN ON APRIL 6, 2017 IN THE 900 BLOCK OF HARLESS. OFFICERS FOUND 7 CREDIT CARDS, A DEBIT CARD, 2 TEXAS DRIVER’S LICENSES AND 2 SOCIAL SECURITY CARDS IN DENNETT’S POSSESSION THAT DID NOT BELONG TO HER.

JOLEA KAMA DENNETT WAS CHARGRED AND ARRESTED FOR FRAUDULENT USE OF POSSESSION OF IDENTIFYING INFORMATION “STATE JAIL FELONY”.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS-MAN ARRESTED 2ND TIME FOR ASSAULT FAMILY VIOLENCE AFTER ASSAULTING GIRLFRIEND

ODESSA, TEXAS/AUGUST 24, 2017/OPD – ON AUGUST 22, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 10:55PM OPD OFFICERS RESPONDED TO SOUTHWEST OAKS AT 4651 OAKWOOD IN REFERENCE TO A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE.

WHEN OFFICERS ARRIVED THEY MADE CONTACT WITH A 40-YEAR-OLD FEMALE AND HER BOYFRIEND INDENTIFIED AS GILBERT LUNA JR. THE INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT AFTER BOTH SUBJECTS GOT INTO A DISTURBANCE. LUNA STRUCK HIS GIRLFRIEND SEVERAL TIMES WITH HIS FIST BEFORE PUSHING HER TO THE GROUND. LUNA THEN KICKED HER ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF HER FACE. OFFICERS OBSERVED BODILY INJURY ON THE VICTIM’S FACE.

THE VICTIM WAS SHAKEN AND VERY AFRAID OF LUNA. DURING THE INVESTIGATION IT WAS REVEALED THAT LUNA HAD A PRIOR CONVICTION FOR ASSAULT FAMILY VIOLENCE AND AN OUTSTANDING WARRANT FOR CRIMINAL MISCHIEF. LUNA STATED TO OFFICERS THAT HE ASSAULTED HIS GIRLFRIEND BECAUSE “SHE DESERVED IT.”

GILBERT LUNA, JR. WAS CHARED WITH ALLAULT CAUSING BODILY INJURY (FAMILY VIOLENCE) “3RD DEGREE FELONY” AND CRIMINAL MISCHIEF (WARRANT) “CLASS B   MISDEMEANOR”.

AN EMERGENCY PROTECTIVE ORDER WAS ISSURED.

ODESSA, TEXAS/AUGUST 23, 2017/ODESSA POLICE DEPARTMENT – ON MONDAY AUGUST 21, 2017, AT APPROXIMATELY 12:33PM, AN “IMPERSONATING A PUBLIC SERVANT” REPORT WAS MADE WITH THE ODESSA POLICE DEPARTMENT. THE COMPLAINANT REPORTED THAT A MALE SUBJECT DRIVING A TAN SUV ACTIVATED RED AND BLUE LIGHTS AND PULLED HIM OVER NEAR IH-20 AND GRANDVIEW. THE COMPLAINANT REPORTED THAT THE SUSPECT DESPLAYED A BADGE TO HIM.

WHEN THE COMPLAINANT ASKED THE SUSPECT FOR MORE IDENTIFICATION, THE SUSPECT IMMEDIATELY TOOK OFF IN THE TAN SUV. THE COMPLINANT PROVIDED A LICENSE PLATE NUMBER AND OFFICERS LOCATED THE SUSPECT AND HIS VEHICLE IN THE 25OO BLOCK OF WEST 3RD STREET. THE SUSPECT WAS IDENTIFIED AS WESLEY DAVID SULLIVAN, 28 YEARS OF AGE, AND HE ADMITTED TO PULLING SOMEONE OVER ON IH-20. OFFICERS FOUND SULLIVAN TO BE IN POSSESSION OF A GOLD BADGE AND A VEHICLE WITH RED, BLUE AND WHITE LIGHTS INSTALLED IN IT.

WESLEY DAVID SULLIVAN WAS ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO AN “IMPERSONATING A PUBLIC SERVANT INVESTIGATION, A “3RD DEGREE FELONY, AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE ECTOR COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER.
