ON JULY 3RD AT APPROXIMATELY 9:04PM, ODESSA POLICE AND ODESSA FIRE RESCUE RESPONDED TO EAST HIGHWAY 80 AND CLUB DRIVE IN REFERENCE TO A CAR-PEDESTRIAN CRASH INVOLVING TWO CHILDREN.

ANGELICA GARCIA OF MIDLAND WAS TRAVELING EASTBOUND IN THE NORTH SERVICE ROAD OF EAST HIGHWAY 80 APPROACHING CLUB DRIVE IN A GRAY 2014 CHRYSLER 200. GARCIA CONTINUED EASTBOUD THROUGH A BARRICADE AND STRUCK TWO CHILDREN, WHO WERE STANDING NEAR A FIREWORK STAND BEFORE STRIKING A LARGE TRAILER.

BOTH CHILDREN, IDENTIFIED AS 6-YEAR-OLD-FEMALES OF ODESSA WERE TRANSPORTED TO MEDICAL CENTER HOSPITAL AND LATER PRONOUNCED DECEASED BY MEDICAL PERSONNEL. NEXT OF KIN WERE NOTIFIED.

A BLACK FORD MUSTANG, OPERATED BY VANESSA CORTEZ, 17 YEARS OF AGE, OF ODESSA, WAS EXITING FROM A PRIVATE DRIVE AND ATTEMPTING TO TURN WESTBOUND IN THE 1900 BLOCK OF EAST 8TH. THE INVESTATION REVEALED THAT A HARLEY DAVIDSON MOTORCYCLE, OPERATED BY JACOB HENGTGEN, 21 YEARS OF AGE, OF WISCONSIN WAS TRAVELING EASTBOUND IN THE 1900 BLOCK OF EAST OF 8TH AT HIGH RATE OF SPEED BEFORE STRIKING THE MUSTANG. HENGTGEN WAS TRANSPORTED TO MEDICAL CENTER HOSPITAL AND WAS LATER PRONOUNCED DECEASED BY MEDICAL PERSONNEL. NEXT OF KIN WERE NOTIFIED AS THERE WERE NO REPORTS OF ANY OTHER INJURIES.
