MIDLAND, TEXAS/SEPTEMBER 23, 2019-THIS PAST WEEKEND FIRST RESPONDERS FROM ODESSA AND MIDLAND HELD THE 2ND ANNUAL 2019 FIRST RESPONDER SOFTBALL CHALLENGE AT SECURITY BALL PARK IN MIDLAND. BOTH FIRST RESPONDER TEAMS COMPETED IN THE HOME RUN DERBY FOLLOWED BY GAME ONE OF THE SOFTBALL CHALLENGE. (STEVEN RAMIREZ, FIREFIGHTER & PARAMEDIC-ODESSA FIRE RESCUE) MIDLAND MAYOR JERRY MORALES AND RESIDENTS FROM MDLAND AND ODESSA AND SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES CAME OUT TO SUPPORT THE FIRST RESPONDERS (MAYOR JERRY MORALES, CITY OF MIDLAND) THE 2ND ANNUAL FIRST RESPONDER SOFTBALL CHALLENGE RAISED MONEY THROUGH TICKET AND T-SHIRT SALES. (STEVEN RAMIREZ, FIREFIGHTER & PARAMEDIC-ODESSA FIRE RESCUE) MEMBERS OF THE ODESSA POLICE DEPARTMENT, ODESSA FIRE-RESCUE, MIDLAND POLICE DEPARTMENT AND THE MIDLAND FIRE DEPARTMENT ARE THANKFUL AND GRATEFUL FOR THE SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY EXTENDES TO THEM. THIS SPECIAL EVENT WAS TO ADMIRIE CANCER SURVIVORS, SUPPORT THOSE THAT ARE FIGHTING THE DISEASE, AND TO HONOR AND TO REMEMBER THOSE TAKE BY CANCER. (BRENDA MEDLOCK, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR-WEST TEXAS GIFTS OF HOPE) MEDICAL CENTER HOSPITAL, TEXAS ONCOLOGY, TEXAS TECH HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER, ORMC AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS, WERE AT PAINT THE PARK TO BRING AWARENESS AND SUPPORT TO THOSE WHO ARE SURVIVING CANCER AND OFFERING SUPPORT TO THOSE THAT HAVE THE DISEASE.
