ODESSA, TEXAS/JUNE 28, 2021-RECENTLY, GIFTED AND TALENTED STUDENTS THAT COMPLETED GRADES 1 THRU 4 PARTICIPATED IN AN ECTOR COUNTY ISD SUMMER LEARNING CAMP CALLED SCHOLARS IN PROGRESS AT BLACKSHEAR ELEMENTARY.

CAMP SIP OFFERS A SERIES OF COURSES THAT INVOLVE GLOBAL PROBLEM SOLVING AND PROJECT-BASED ACTIVITIES.

STUDENTS AT CAMP SIP ENJOYED THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE USING THE FOLDSCOPE INSTRUMENT. STUDENTS THEN CREATING POSTERS THAT REFLECTED THEIR EXPERIENCE.

FOLDSCOPE INSTRUMENTS SCHOLASTIC CAMP WORKSHOPS WERE DIVIVED INTO 3 PHASES THAT WOULD ALLOW STUDENT TO LEARN NATURE AND HELP STUDENTS AND PARENTS ENGAGE IN LEARNING CORE SUBJECTS AND ADDING FOLDSCOPE INTO ECISD’S SCHOOL CIRRICULUM.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(062521)-ECISD STUDENTS RECEIVE PATCHES FLOWN TO SPACE

In early December 2020, SpaceX-21 launched SSEP Mission 13 to the International Space Station, and included in the cargo were two Mission Patches designed by Ector County ISD students Sophia Patino and Amaya Villanueva. After the flight and a one-month stay on the International Space Station (ISS), the patches returned safely to Earth and are now certified as having flown to the ISS. The patches were designed and selected for flight in 2019, however, the COVID-19 pandemic forced the delay of the launch. Sophia, a 5th grader at Milam Fine Arts Magnet Elementary when she created the design, is now going into 8th grade at Bowie Middle School; and Amaya, a sophomore in high school at the time of the design, recently graduated from Odessa Collegiate Academy

MIDLAND, TEXAS/JUNE 24,2021-MIDLAND COLLEGE HOSTED THE KIDS’ COLLEGE SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAM 2021, THAT STARTED ON JUNE 21ST AND WILL END JULY 1ST. PARTICIPANTS AT THE SUMMER CAMP ENGAGED IN VARIOUS ACTIVITIES LIKE SOCCER, PAINTING, ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE AND OTHER FUN ACTIVITIES.

ODESSA, TEXAS/JUNE 24,2021-THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING ACADEMY AT ODESSA COLLEGE HAS A NEW VIRTUAL REALITY TRAINING SYSTEM TO HELP OFFICERS IMPROVE HOW THEY RESPOND TO HIGH STRESS SITUATIONS.

THE VIRTRA SIMULATOR IS DESGNED TO SAVE LIVES OF FIRST RESPONDERS AND CITIZEN AND TRAIN OFFICES IN REAL WORLD SENERIOS LIKE MOVIE THEATRES, A COURTHOUSE OR A SCHOOL CAMPUS.

THIS VERSION OF THE VIRTRA SIMULATOR CONTAINS APPROXIMATELY 100 DIFFERENT SENERIOS. THE LAW ENFORCEMENT STUDENT IS ABLE TO USE VARIOUS WEAPONS RECOMENDED BY VIRTRA.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(061421A)-CHARLIE TURNER-MISSING PERSON

Odessa, Texas/June 14, 2021-The Odessa Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing person. Charlie Turner, 41 years of age, was last seen on June 13th, 2021 during the early morning hours, in the area of ORMC. Turner may need medical treatment.

Turner is 6’ tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. Anyone with information in reference to the whereabouts of Turner contact the Odessa Police Department at 432-333-3641 or Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS.
