Odessa, Texas/December 30, 2021-The Odessa Police Department hosted the 4th Annual Chief’s 3-On-3 Youth Basketball Throwdown. Students from the ECISD School District came out to the Odessa High School Gym to register and play in the Basketball Tournament on December 29th.

This annual basketball tournament is a proactive way the Odessa Police Department engages with the youth of the Odessa community through sports.

The 3-On-3 Youth Basketball Throwdown started at 9am and ended in the afternoon Winners in the different age groups were awarded medals.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(122821A)-MCSO INVESTIGATING SHOOTING ONE PERSON DECEASED

Midland, Texas/December 28, 2021-The Midland County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred on Monday evening, December 27th, in the 10001 block of west County Road 154. 

Where, one person found deceased. 

During the course of the investigation the Midland County Sheriff’s Office has made a positive identification in the homicide that occurred on December 27th, 2021.  

 The body was identified to be of Ivan Josue Ortiz-Castillo, 19-years-of-age Next of kin has been notified. 

The investigation is ongoing, more information as it becomes available.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(122821)-MCSO ARREST WANTED FUGITIVE GABRIEL RODRIGUEZ, JR

Midland, Texas/December 28, 2021- On December 26, the Midland County Sheriff’s Office and the United States Marshal’s Service received information that wanted fugitive Gabriel Rodriguez, Jr. was wanted out of Eddy County, New Mexico for Aggravated Robbery and the Murder of Eduardo Otero, Jr. Rodriguez was believed to be in the Midland area. 

On December 27, wanted fugitive, Gabriel Rodriguez, Jr., was located and arrested in the 600 block of East County Road 129 in Midland County. 

Rodriguez was taken into custody without incident and placed in the Midland County Jail.

Odessa, Texas/December 22, 2021-Recently the Ector County Democrats held their holiday party and ballot draw to kick-off primary season. The holiday party featured food and fellowship with guest and with Democratic candidates.

Midland, Texas/December 20, 2021-The Midland County Sheriff’s Office hosted Christmas at the Horseshoe. Hundreds of visitors came out to this fun family event.

The free Christmas event featured mascots from the volunteer fire department and other agencies. Participating non-profit agencies gave out free information on services.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation invited kids to decorate gingerbread cookies. Children with mom’s and dad’s stood in line to visit with Santa.

The evening’s finale featured A free Christmas concert with dancing and traditional Christmas songs produced by a network of local churches.
