DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(051721)-MIDLAND POLICE INVESTIGATING FATAL STABBING AT CLUB ARRIBA

Midland, Texas/May 17, 2021-On Sunday, May 16, 2021, at approximately 1:31 am, Midland Police Department off-duty officers requested Midland Fire Department EMS at Club Arriba located at 1006 S. Midkiff Rd. in reference to a male who had been stabbed.
Additional officers and EMS responded to the scene and the male was transported to the Midland Memorial Hospital. Persons Detectives and MPD Crime Scene Unit were notified and responded to the crime scene.
During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that a verbal argument took place inside Club Arriba and continued outside in the parking lot between the victim and the suspect. The verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation between the victim and the suspect. The suspect stabbed the victim multiple times with a knife before fleeing the scene.
At approximately 2:19 am, the victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Next of kin has NOT been notified.
A warrant was issued for the suspect for Murder. At approximately 3:45 pm, a Crime Stoppers tip was received that led to the suspects whereabouts. The suspect was contacted, taken into custody and transported to the Midland Police Department for questioning.
Persons Detectives conducted an interview with the suspect, and he confessed. The Crime Scene Unit was notified and responded to the police department, where he was photographed and evidence was collected.
The suspect was transported to the Midland County Jail where he was charged for Murder.
The investigation is still ongoing.
