DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS-ODESSA POLICE ASKING FOR PUBLIC’S HELP

ODESSA, TEXAS – ON AUGUST 9, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 3:24AM, ODESSA POLICE RESPONDED TO 1000 NORTH COUNTY ROAD WEST AT THE CASH AMERICA PAWN IN REFERENCE TO A BURGLARY. THE INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT TWO MALE SUBJECTS MADE FORCED ENTRY INTO THE BUSINESS AND WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FIREAMS DISPLAY THAT WAS EMPTY. THE SUSPECTS STOLE SERVERAL PURSES AND FLED THE SCENE IN AN UKNOW DIRECTION. THE SUSPECTS CAUSED APPROXIMATELY $2,000 IN DAMAGES.

THEN AT 3:31AM, ODESSA POLICE RESPONDED TO 1012 NORTH GRANT AT THE CASH AMERICA IN REFERENCE TO A BURGLARY. THE INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT TWO MALE SUBJECTS USED A VEHICLE TO MAKE FORCED ENTRY INTO THE BUSINESS. THE SUSPECTS STOLE: 11 RINGS, 7 WATCHES, 2 SILVER BRACELETS, 1 PANDORA BRACELET, 3 SILVER PENDANTS AND 4 KNIVES. THERE WAS APPROXIMATELY $4,500 IN DAMAGES TO THE FRONT GATE AND FRONT DOOR.

AT APPROXIMATELY 3:42AM, ODESSA POLICE RESPONDED TO 2701 NORTH DIXIE AT THE GUN SPORT LTD IN REFERENCE TO A BURGLARY IN PROGRESS. UPON ARRIVAL OFFICERS OBSERVED DAMAGE TO THE FRONT DOOR. THE INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT TWO SUSPECTS BROKE THE WINDOW, BUT WERE UNABLE TO MAKE ENTRY INTO THE BUSINESS. THE TWO SUSPECTS WERE LAST SEEN RUNNING WESTBOUND ON UNIVERSITY BEFORE TURNING ON TO KAY STREET.

THEN, AT APPROXIMATELY 3:52AM ODESSA POLICE RESPONDED TO 2021 NORTH COUNTY ROAD WEST AT HALFTIME LIQUORS IN REFERENCE TO A BURGLARY. THE INVESTIGATION REVEALED UKNOWN SUBJECTS MADE FORCED ENTRY INTO THE BUSINESS THROUGH THE FRONT DOOR. THE SUSPECTS HOOKED A ROPE OR CHAIN FROM A VEHICLE TO THE SECURITY GATE BEFORE TEARING IT OFF THE WALL. APPROXIMATELY $1,150 WORTH OF LIQUOR AND CIGARETTES WERE STOLEN BEFORE FLEEING THE SCENE.

IT IS BELIEVED THAT THE SAME SUSPECTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR COMMITING ALL FOUR BURGLARIES. BOTH SUSPECTS WERE WEARING GLOVES. THE FIRST SUSPECT WAS WEARING A CAMOFLAGE HOODIE AND THE SECOND SUSPECT WAS WEARING A BLACK OR BLUE SHIRT.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS-FELONY ARRESTS (AUGUST 9, 2017)

ON AUGUST 6, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 10:50PM, ODESSA POLICE RESPONDED TO THE 400 BLOCK OF LASSETER IN REFERENCE TO A DISTUBANCE. THE COMPLAINANT REPORTED THAT HER BOYFRIEND, IDENTIFIED AS JOHN ANTHONY BAEZA, 23 YEARS OF AGE, WAS INSIDE THE RESIDENCE TEARING THINGS UP.

OFFICERS OBSERVED SERVERAL BROKEN ITEMS AND HOLES IN THE WALL THAT APPPEARED TO HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY SOMEONE PUNCHING THE WALLS. WHEN OFFICERS MADE CONTACT WITH BAEZA HE WAS STANDING AT THE FRONT DOOR  HOLDING HIS 2-YEAR-OLD DAUGHTER IN HIS RIGHT ARM. BAEZA IGNORED SERVERAL COMMANDS TO PUT HIS DAUGHTER DOWN; HE THEN BEGAN BACKING INTO HIS RESIDENCE.

BAEZA REFUSED TO LET GO OF THIS DAUGHTER AND STRUCK OFFICER BAER IN THE MOUTH WITH HIS PALM. OFFICER BAER SUSTAINED BODIDLY INJURY ON HIS FACE AS A RESULT OF THE ASSAULT.

ON AUGUST 5, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 7:40PM OFFICERS RESPONDED TO THE 500 BLOCK OF MCKENNEY IN REFERENCE TO A MEDICAL CALL. UPON ARRIVAL, OFFICERS MADE CONTACT WITH A MALE SUBJECT THAT APPEARED TPO BE DROWSY AND UNRESPONSIVE. THE MALE SUBJECT WAS IDENTIFIED AS DANNY RODRIGUEZ LUJAN, 50 YEARS OF AGE.

OFFICERS FOUND LUJAN TO BE IN POSSESSION OF A SYRINGE CONTAINING A DARK LIQUID SUBSTANCE. THE SUBSTANCE TESTED POSITIVE FOR HEROIN.

LUJAN WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF HEROIN AND DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, AND TRANSPORTED TO THE ECTOR COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER.

 

ON AUGUST 5, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 1:22PM, OFFICERS RESPONDED TO THE AREA OF CRANE AND CLEMENTS IN REFERENCE TO SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY.

DISPATCH ADVISED THAT A MALE SUBJECT NEAR SEVEN ELEVEN WAS ASKING PEOPLE IF THEY WOULD LIKE TO BUY DRUGS. UPON ARRIVAL, OFFICERS OBSERVED A MALE SUBJECT MATCHING THE SUSPECT’S DESCRIPTION. THE MALE SUBJECT IDENTIFIED AS ROBERT RIOS 75 YEARS OF AGE, WAS FOUND TO HAVE A FELONY PAROLE VIOLATION WARRANT FOR POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE.

ON AUGUST 5, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY  11:38PM, ODESSA POLICE WERE CONDUCTING A WALKTHROUGH AT CLUB TEQUILA, 211 EAST 8TH STREET. OFFICERS OBSERVED A MALE SUBJECT SNORTING A WHITE POWDERY SUBSTANCE. WHEN OFFICERS MADE CONTACT WITH THE MALE SUBJECT LATER IDENTIFIED AS MARIO LUJAN, 43 YEARS OF AGE, LUJAN ATTEMPTED TO THROW  THE BAG INTO THE BATHROOM STALL AND ATTEMPTED TO FLUSH IT DOWN THE TOILET. LUJAN REFUSED TO COMPLY WITH OFFICER’S COMMANDS, RESISTED ARREST, AND ATTEMPTED TO PUSH THE OPD OFFICER INTO THE WALL, WHILE GRABBING FOR ITEMS AROUND THE OFFICER’S DUTY BELT.

 ODESSA POLICE ARRESTED AND CHARGED MARIO LUJAN WITH TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE “3RD DEGREE FELONY, POSSESSION OF COCAIN STATE JAIL FELONY, RESISTING ARREST CLASS A MISDEMEANOR,  PUBLIC  INTOXICATION CLASS C MISDEMEANOR AND GRABBING OPD OFFICER’S DUTY BELT.

MARIO LUJAN WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE ECTOR COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER.

ON JUNE 28, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 10:00PM AN UNDERCOVER OFFICER WITH THE ODESSA POLICE DEPARTMENT NARCOTICS UNIT ASKED A FEMALE SUBJECT IS THEY COULD BUY $50 WORTH OF COCAINE. OFFICERS MET THE FEMALE SUBJECT AT THE TRAVEL LODGE (3075 EAST HIGHWAY 80).

THE FEMALE SUBJECT WAS IDENTIFIED AS TEQUILA WILLIAMS, 29 YEARS OF AGE. OFFICERS ASKED WILLIAMS IF SHE HAD THE COCAINE, SHE STATED THAT IT WAS IN HER CIGARETTE CASE.

TEQUILA WILLIAMS WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH POSSESSION OF COCAINE, AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE ECTOR COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER.

 ON AUGUST 8. 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 1:00PM, OPD OFFICERS RESPONDED TO 4800 GOLDER (JOY’S MOBILE HOME VILLA) IN REFERENCE TO A DISTURBANCE. UPON ARRIVAL OFFICERS MADE CONTACT WITH ONE OF THE INVOLVED PARTIES, IDENTIFIED AS DEMLER.

OFFICERS COULD SMELL AN ODOR OF MARIJUANA COMING FROM DEMLER’S RESIDENCE. OFFICERS FOUND JEANNIE DEMLER, 21 YEARS OF AGE, TO BE IN POSSESION OF APPROXIMATELY 13 GRAMS OF TETRAHYDROCANNABINOL.

JEANIE DEMLER WAS ARRESTED AND CHARGED WITH 13 GRAMS OF THC. DEMLER WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE ECTOR COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER.

 

 

ON AUGUST 6, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 9:00PM OFFICERS RESPONDED TO MURPHY AND MUSKINGUM IN REFERENCE TO A CRASH. THE INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT A WHITE 2006 LINCOLN MARK RAN A RED LIGHT AND STRUCK A WHITE 2001 MERCURY MOUNTAINEER.

THE DRIVER OF THE LINCOLN WAS IDENTIFIED AS ABELINO TARIN 59 YEARS OF AGE. OFFICERS COULD SMELL A STRONG ODOR OF AN ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE COMING FROM HIS BREATH.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS-RUBIN FRANCIS EDWARDS III CHARGED WITH MURDER

ODESSA, TEXAS/AUGUST 8, 2017 – ODESSA POLICE HAVE CHARGED RUBIN FRANCIS EDWARS, III 34 YEARS OF AGE IN CONNECTION TO A MURDER THAT OCCURRED ON AUGUST 6, 2017.

At approximately 6:24PM, Odessa Police and Odessa Fire Rescue responded to the 1300 Block of East 36TH STREET (36TH AND BELLAIRE) in reference to a PHYSICAL DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE, which was upgraded to TWO GUNSHOT VICTIMS. Upon arrival, Officers observed a deceased female later identified as LINDSEY BALDONADO, 31 years of age.

OFFICERS ALSO OBSERVED THE DECEDENT’S BOYFIREND, IDENTIFIED AS RUBIN FRANCES EDWARDS III, WHO HAD SUSTAINED A GUNSHOT WOUND TO THE HEAD. EDWARDS WAS TRANSPORTED TO MEDICAL CENTER HOSPITAL WITH SERIOUS BODILY INJURY. THE INVESTIGATION REVEALDED THAT AFTER BOTH SUBJECTS GOT INTO AN ARGUMENT, EDWARDS SHOT BALDONADO BEFORE SHOOTING HIMSELF.

BASED ON THE FACTS AND CIRCUMSTANCES PRESENTED DURING THE INVESTIGATION, OPD DETECTIVES OBTAINED A MURDER WARRANT FOR EDWARDS, WHO IS CURRENTLY IN CUSTODY IN THE HOSPITAL WITH LIFE-THREATENING INJURIES.

NEXT OF KIN HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED AND THE DECEDENT WILL BE SENT TO TARRANT COUNTY FOR AUTOPSY. THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.

ODESSA, TEXAS/AUGUST 8,2017 – QUANE LAQUANTUS TAYLOR IS CURRENTLY HELD AT THE ECTOR COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER, AND IS CHARGED WITH MURDER AFTER HE ADMITTED TO KILLING HIS FIANCE WITH A KNIFE.

AN ALTERCATION BETWEEN TAYLOR, 47 YEARS OF AGE, AND THE VICTIM, HIS FIANCE, EVANGELINA QEUZADA,  A HISPANIC FEMALE 52 YEARS OF AGE OCCURRED EARLIER MONDAY MORNING AUGUST 7, 2017 IN THE CAB OF THE VEHICLE, THAT WAS PARKED AT THE RESIDENCE LOCATED IN THE 2600 BLOCK OF NORTH ROUNDUP.

TAYLOR DROVE AROUND AND ENDED UP AT THE ROAD RANGER TRAVEL STOP LOCATED AT SOUTH MOSS ROAD AND WEST I-20, IN WEST ODESSA, AND EVENTUALY CALLED 911 TO REPORT A STABBING. DEPTUTIES AND EMS ARRIVED AT THE SCENE AND FOUND THE VICTIM DECEASE IN THE SLEEPER COMPARTMENT OF THE 18 WHEELER CAB.

BOND FOR QUANE LAQUANTUS TAYLOR IS SET AT $200.000.00.

THE DECEASED HAS BEEN TRANSPORTED TO TARRANT COUNTY FOR AUTOPSY. THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.

WEST ODESSA, TEXAS/AUGUST 7, 2017 – AT APPROXIMATELY 3:30PM, ON MONDAY, AUGUST 7, 2017,  ECTOR COUNTY SHERIFF OFFICERS AND PARAMEDICS WERE DISPATCHED TO THE PARKING LOT OF THE ROAD RANGER CONVENIENCE STORE LOCATED AT 10,400 WEST I-20 IN WEST ODESSA.

THE ECTOR COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RECEIVED A 911 CALL REGARDING A POSSIBLE STABBING VCTIM.

OFFERS FOUND A DECEASED FEMALE IN THE FRONT CAB OF AN 18 WHEELER AT THE SCENE, AND A SUSPECT WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AND INTERVIEWED BY CID OFFICERS REGARDING THE INCEDENT. IT IS STILL UNKNOW WHAT THE RELATIONSHIP IS BETWEEN THE VICTIM AND THE ARRESTED SUBJECT.

THE INCEDENT IS STILL UNDER INVESTIGATION.
