ODESSA, TEXAS/AUGUST 26, 2017/OPD – ON AUGUST 26, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 5:48 PM, ODESSA POLICE RESPONDED TO BIG LOTS LOCATED AT 3118 ANDREWS HIGHWAY.

DISPATCH ADVISED OPD OFFICERS THAT SHOTS HAD BEEN FIRED. OFFICERS MADE CONTACT WITH THE COMPLAINANT, WHO REPORTED THAT THREE MALE SUBJECTS ENTERED THE BUSINESS AND DEMANDED MONEY FROM THE CASH REGISTER WHILE FIRING ONE SHOT.

THREE SUSPECTS FLED THE SCENE WITH AND UNDISCLOSED AMOUNT OF CASH AND WERE LAST SEEN RUNINING NORTHBOUND IN THE ALLEY BEHIND BIG LOTS. THERE WERE NO REPORTS OF ANY INJURIES.

THE THREE MALE SUSPECTS (UNKNOWN ETHNICITY) WORE DARK CLOTHING WITH YELLOW OR PURPLE GOLVES AND HAD MASKS COVERING THEIR FACES.

NO ARRESTS HAVE BEEN MADE AT THIS TIME. THE ODESSA POLICE DEPARTMENT IS ASKING FOR ANY POTENTIAL WITNESSES OR ANYONE WITH INFORMATION IN REFERENCE TO THIS INVESTIGATION.

ODESSA, TEXAS/AUGUST 24, 2017/OPD – ON AUGUST 20, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 4:05PM ODESSA POLICE RESPONDED TO EZ PAWN AT 1345 WEST UNIVERSITY IN REFERENCE TO A WANTED SUBJECT. THE CRIME STOPPERS TIP ADVISED THAT THE SUSPECT WAS OCCUPYING A RED CHEVROLET PICKUP WITH A BLUE FRONT PANEL.

OFFICERS OBSERVED A VEHICLE MATCHING THE SUSPECT’S DESCRIPTION, TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND ON NORTH COUNTY ROAD WEST. A TRAFFIC STOP WAS CONDUCTED ON THE LISTED VEHICLE AND THE DRIVER WAS ARRESTED FOR A MISDEMEANOR WARRANT. THE BACK PASSENGER OF THE LISTED VEHICLE WAS IDENTIFIED AS JOLEA KAMA DENNETT, 31 YEARS OF AGE.

OFFICERS FOUND DENNETT TO BE IN POSSESSION OF PROPERTY THAT HAD BEEN REPORTED STOLEN ON APRIL 6, 2017 IN THE 900 BLOCK OF HARLESS. OFFICERS FOUND 7 CREDIT CARDS, A DEBIT CARD, 2 TEXAS DRIVER’S LICENSES AND 2 SOCIAL SECURITY CARDS IN DENNETT’S POSSESSION THAT DID NOT BELONG TO HER.

JOLEA KAMA DENNETT WAS CHARGRED AND ARRESTED FOR FRAUDULENT USE OF POSSESSION OF IDENTIFYING INFORMATION “STATE JAIL FELONY”.

ODESSA, TEXAS/AUGUST 24, 2017/OPD – ON AUGUST 22, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 10:55PM OPD OFFICERS RESPONDED TO SOUTHWEST OAKS AT 4651 OAKWOOD IN REFERENCE TO A DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE.

WHEN OFFICERS ARRIVED THEY MADE CONTACT WITH A 40-YEAR-OLD FEMALE AND HER BOYFRIEND INDENTIFIED AS GILBERT LUNA JR. THE INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT AFTER BOTH SUBJECTS GOT INTO A DISTURBANCE. LUNA STRUCK HIS GIRLFRIEND SEVERAL TIMES WITH HIS FIST BEFORE PUSHING HER TO THE GROUND. LUNA THEN KICKED HER ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF HER FACE. OFFICERS OBSERVED BODILY INJURY ON THE VICTIM’S FACE.

THE VICTIM WAS SHAKEN AND VERY AFRAID OF LUNA. DURING THE INVESTIGATION IT WAS REVEALED THAT LUNA HAD A PRIOR CONVICTION FOR ASSAULT FAMILY VIOLENCE AND AN OUTSTANDING WARRANT FOR CRIMINAL MISCHIEF. LUNA STATED TO OFFICERS THAT HE ASSAULTED HIS GIRLFRIEND BECAUSE “SHE DESERVED IT.”

GILBERT LUNA, JR. WAS CHARED WITH ALLAULT CAUSING BODILY INJURY (FAMILY VIOLENCE) “3RD DEGREE FELONY” AND CRIMINAL MISCHIEF (WARRANT) “CLASS B   MISDEMEANOR”.

AN EMERGENCY PROTECTIVE ORDER WAS ISSURED.

THE COMPLAINANT REPORTED THAT A MALE SUBJECT DRIVING A TAN SUV ACTIVATED RED AND BLUE LIGHTS AND PULLED HIM OVER NEAR IH-20 AND GRANDVIEW. THE COMPLAINANT REPORTED THAT THE SUSPECT DESPLAYED A BADGE TO HIM.

WHEN THE COMPLAINANT ASKED THE SUSPECT FOR MORE IDENTIFICATION, THE SUSPECT IMMEDIATELY TOOK OFF IN THE TAN SUV. THE COMPLINANT PROVIDED A LICENSE PLATE NUMBER AND OFFICERS LOCATED THE SUSPECT AND HIS VEHICLE IN THE 25OO BLOCK OF WEST 3RD STREET. THE SUSPECT WAS IDENTIFIED AS WESLEY DAVID SULLIVAN, 28 YEARS OF AGE, AND HE ADMITTED TO PULLING SOMEONE OVER ON IH-20. OFFICERS FOUND SULLIVAN TO BE IN POSSESSION OF A GOLD BADGE AND A VEHICLE WITH RED, BLUE AND WHITE LIGHTS INSTALLED IN IT.

WESLEY DAVID SULLIVAN WAS ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO AN “IMPERSONATING A PUBLIC SERVANT INVESTIGATION, A “3RD DEGREE FELONY, AND WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE ECTOR COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER.

THE PURSUIT ENDED IN A FIELD IN THE AREA OF 10TH AND CORONADO, AFTER DEPUTIES FIRED SHOTS INTO THE TIRES OF THE VEHICLE, BLOWING OUT ONE TIRE.

THE SUSPECT, JOSE CARLOS TORRES, 45 YEARS OF AGE WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AND CHARGED WITH UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE AND EVADING.

BOTH SUBJECTS THEN EXIT THE STORE WITH THE $1,200 LAPTOP, WITHOUT MAKING ANY ATTEMPT TO PAY.

THE FIRST SUBJECT IS DESCRIBED AS A HISPANIC MALE, APPROXIMATELY 40 YEARS OF AGE, 5’8” TALL AND WEIGHING APPROXIMATELY 220 POUNDS. THE SECOND SUSPECT IS DESCRIBED AS A HISPANIC MALE, WITH A GOATEE, APPROXIMATELY 22 YEARS OF AGE, 5’11” TALL AND WEIGHING APPROXIMATELY 190 POUNDS.
