DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS-ODESSA POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING HOMICIDE

Odessa, Texas/August 6, 2017 – ODESSA POLICE ARE INVESTIGATING A HOMICIDE THAT OCCURRED EARLIER THIS EVENING.

At approximately 6:24PM, August 6, 2017, Odessa Police and Odessa Fire Rescue responded to the 1300 Block of East 36TH STREET (36TH AND BELLAIRE) in reference to a PHYSICAL DOMESTIC DISTURBANCE, which was upgraded to TWO GUNSHOT VICTIMS. Upon arrival, Officers observed a deceased female later identified as LINDSEY BALDONADO, 31 years of age.

(Corporal Steve LeSueur, Public Information Officer – Odessa Police Department) ”Upon arrival Officers made contact with a deceased female, who was later identified as Lindsey Baldonado, 31 years of age”.

Officers also observed a 33 year-old male, who had sustained SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, and was transported to MEDICAL CENTER HOSPITAL.

NEXT OF KIN have been NOTIFIED, and the DECEDENT will be sent to TARRANT COUNTY for and AUTOPSY. The investigation is ongoing.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS-ECSO ARRESTED AND CHARGED ARDRIAN LOZANO

WEST ODESSA, TEXAS/AUGUST 4, 2017-ARDRIAN LOZANO, 19 YEARS OF AGE WAS ARRESTED AUGUST 4, 2017 AND CHARGED WITH EVADING IN A MOTOR VEHICLE AND UNAUTHORIZED USE OF A VEHICLE.

THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY ISSUED AN ATTEMPT TO LOCATE, A VEHICLE THAT WAS REPORTED STOLEN ON THURSDAY EVENING AUGUST 3, 2017. THE VEHICLE WAS DESCRIBED AS A MAROON FORD EXPEDITION, 2013 KING RANCH EDITION.

A DEPUTY WITH THE ECTOR COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE SPOTTED THE VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 12:09PM, AUGUST 4, 2017 IN THE AREA OF 26TH AND MOCKINGBORD AND ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE, BUT THE DRIVER EVADED THE OFFICER. THE PURSIT ENDED IN THER AREA FO FM 866 AND WEST UNIVERSITY.

TWO FEMALE JUVENILES, WHO WERE OCCUPANTS OF THE STOLEN VEHICLE ATTEMPED TO EVADE ON FOOT, BUT WERE QUICKLY CAPTURED, AND WILL BE CHARGED WITH EVADING ON FOOT.

BOTH FEMALE JUVENILES WERE LISTED IN THE SYSTEM AS RUNAWAYS AND WERE TAKEN TO THE YOUTH CENTER. NO BOND IS SET AT THIS TIME.

ODESSA, TEXAS/AUGUST 4,2017-ODESSA POLICE HAVE CHARGED ZADE DRAVEN MENDOZA, 17 YEARS OF AGE WITH 2 COUNTS OF BURGLARY OF A VEHICLE “CLASS A MISDEMEANOR” MENDOZA WAS CHARGED TODAY AUGUST 4, 2017 AT 1:30PM, WHILE IN CUSTODY AT THE ECTOR COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER ON UNRELATED CHARGES.

ODESSA POLICE ARE STILL ATTEMPTING TO IDENTIFY THE SECOND PERSON INVOLVED IN THE AUTO BURGLARIES THAT OCCURRED LAST WEEKEND IN THE 600 BLOCK OF EAST 35TH STREET.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS-ODESSA POLICE ASKING FOR PUBLIC’S HELP WITH IDENTIFYING BURGLARY SUSPECTS

Odessa, Texas/August 3, 2017-On July 28, 2017, Odessa Police responded to the 600 block of East 35th Street in – reference to a burglary. Investigation revealed that at approximately 2:00am, two male subjects burglarized several vehicles parked on the street. Anyone with information to the identity of the suspects shown is encouraged to contact Odessa Police or Odessa Crime Stoppers at 432-333-TIPS and reference Case #17-18405.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS – OFFICER RANDY CARRUTH IS OPD OFFICER OF THE MONTH FOR JULY 2017

Odessa, Texas/August 2, 2017-OFFICER RANDY CARRUTH IS OPD OFFICER OF THE MONTH FOR JULY 2017. OFFICER CARRUTH HAS BEEN EMPLOYED WITH THE ODESSA POLICE DEPARTMENT SINCE MARCH OF 2014 AND IS CURRENTLY ASSIGNED TO PATROL DIVISION “C”.

OFFICER CARRUTH WAS BORN IN SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA AND RAISED IN MIDLAND, TEXAS; HE SERVED AS AN INFANTRYMAN IN THE ARMY NATIONAL GURAD IN 2011.

ON JUNE 22, 2017, AT APPROXIMATELY 9:26PM OFFICER CARRUTH WAS ON PATROL TRAVELING EASTBOUND ON YUKON ROAD AND OBSERVED WHAT APPEARED TO BE A FIREBALL IN FRONT OF HIM – A MAJOR CRASH OCCURRED INVOLVING TWO VEHICLES THAT WERE ON FIRE. ONE OF THE VEHICLES, A VAN WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES.

OFFICER CARRUTH IMMEDIATELY BEGAN ASSISTING THOSE INVOLVED BY PULLING TWO SEVERELY INJURED SUBJECTS OUT OF THE DODGE CHALLENGER, AND RISKING HIS OWN LIFE BY PULLING OUT OTHERS FROM THE BURNING VEHICLE. OFFICER CARRUTH’S ACT OF HEROISM HELPED SAVE AT LEAST TWO LIVES.

DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS-AGGRAVATED ASSAULT AT THE ODESSA FAMILY YMCA PARK

Odessa, Texas – August 1, 2017 – The Odessa Police Department is currently investigating an aggravated assault at the Odessa Family YMCA.

On Saturday, July 30, 2017 OPD Responded to Medical Center Hospital in reference to a 27 year old assault victim. At approximately 10pm the victim was running around the track at the Odessa Family YMCA park when he was approached by five male subjects.

The victim reported that he felt a blunt strike to the head and five male subjects surrounded him. The victim reported that the five subjects began fighting him and that one of the subjects struck him in the face with a pellet gun. The victim reported that all five subjects then fled the scene southbound on foot.

the victim sustained serious bodily injury on the head and face as a result of the assault. All suspects are described as being African-American males, approximately 16-19 years of age, slim build, and approximately 5’9″ tall.
