ODESSA, TEXAS/MARCH 24, 2018 – TODAY, MARCH 24TH, ECTOR COUNTY DEMOCRATS HELD THEIR CONVENTION AT THE GERTRUDE BRUCE HISTORICAL CENTER IN ODESSA.

“254 COUNTIES IN TEXAS HAVE THEIR CONVENTION TODAY.”

THE ECTOR COUNTY DEMOCRATS WILL BE WILL BE VOTING ON RESOLUTIONS THAT WILL BE PRESENTED AT THE STATE CONVENTION AND WILL ALSO BE CHOOSING ELEVEN DELEGATS, THAT WILL BE REPRESENTING ECTOR COUNTY AT THE CONVENTION IN FORT WORTH IN THE MONTH OF JUNE.

“IF WE COULD INCREASE VOTER TURN-OUT IN A PRIMARY AND EDUCATE PEOPLE SO THAT THEY UNDERSTAND, WHEN YOU SHOW UP IN A PRIMARY ON A MID-TERM YEAR, IT MATTERS, BECAUSE THAT DETERMINS YOU REPRESENTATION AT A STATE LEVEL.”

ARMANDO RODRIGUEZ, COUNTY COMMISSIONER, PCT. 4 SAYS THAT THERE MAY BE A RESOLUTION OR PLATFORM THAT WILL BE DISSCUSED DURING THE LOCAL DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION, THAT MAY NEED TO BE ENFORCED ON A LOCAL LEVEL.

“ECTOR COUNTY MIGHT HAVE SOME PLATFORMS THAT WE MAY WANT TO ENFORCE HERE IN ECTOR COUNTY, BUT BESIDES THAT EVERYTHING WILL BE THE SAME. WE’LL HAVE DELEGATES. AND THE THING IS TO GET ORGANIZED AND GET OUT THE VOTE FOR NOVEMBER.
