ODESSA, TEXAS/SEPTEMBER 14, 2017-THE ODESSA POLICE DEPARTMENT, ALONG WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THE U.S. MARSHAL SERVICE AND THE ECTOR COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, LOCATED NATHON GREGORY GAYTAN, 26 YEARS OF AGE. GAYTAN IS CHARGED WITH MURDER “FELONY 1 AND AGGRAVATED ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON “FELONY 2”.

“YES…LIKE AT 2…LIKE 2 IN THE AFTERNOON, I WENT TO GO TO 7-11 TO GO PUT SOME GAS IN MY TRUCK, BUT IN ONE STREET I SAW AN UNDERCOVER COP PUTTING ON A BULLISTIC, OR A VEST AND EVERYTHING, AND WELL YEAH LIKE…WHAT’S HAPPENING. SO, I WENT TO PUT IN GAS, SO THEN LIKE I CAME BACK TO MY HOUSE, THEN AT 4, THAT’S WHEN I NOTICED LIKE LOTS OF PEOPLE BOCKING OFF RIGHT HERE ON GOLDER AND ANDREWS HIGHWAY, BUT POLICE JUST BLOCKING THE STREETS…AND WELL, I WAS OUTSIDE THEN I NOTICED LIKE POLICE JUST STOPPING RIGHT HERE ONT THE NEIGHBORHOOD…AND THEN WELL, AH, ARMORED, AN ARMORD TANK LIKE HE JUST POPPED OUT OF NOWHERE. HE WAS GOING INSIDE, AH… THIS ONE STREET OVER HERE. WELL, I WENT TO GO CHECK, AND THEN, I SAW THIS DUDE IN HANDCUFFS…BUT I COULD’NT SEE NO MORE, BECAUSE A POLICEMAN HE WAS LIKE TELLING ME WHAT WAS MY BUSINESS HERE? WHAT WAS I DOING? WELL I TOLD HIM I WAS JUST LOOKIN’. HE TOLD THIS POLICEMAN TO KEEP AN EYE ON ME. HE THOUGHT I WAS DOING SOMETHING DANGEROUS…OR LEERY OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. NAW… I WAS JUST LOOKIN’. HE JUST SAW ME LOOKIN’ AT THAT DUDE AND WELL YEAH.”

KYLE ARMER WAS SHOT MULIPLE TIMES, AND A 23 YEAR OLD FEMALE THAT WAS IN THE PICKUP TRUCK WITH ARMER WAS SHOT AT BY GAYTAN, BUT WAS NOT STRUCK. THE INCIDENT OCCURED IN THE PARKING LOT OF T & T DONUTS IN THE 3100 BLOCK OF ANDREWS HIGHWAY ON SEPTEMBER 14, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY AT 5:23AM.

NATHON GREGORY GAYTAN WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY AT APPROXIMATELY 6:45PM IN THE 300 BLOCK OF WEST 48TH STREET WITHOUT INCIDENT AND TRANSPORTED TO THE ECTOR COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER.
