DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS-NEWS BRIEF FOR SEPTEMBER 21, 2017-OPD FELONY ARRESTS

ODESSA, TEXAS/SEPTEMBER 21, 2017/OPD – ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2017 OFFICERS OBSERVED A RED FORD RANGER TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND IN THE 45OO BLOCK OF ANDREWS HIGHWAY WITH UNCONFIRMED INSURANCE. ATRAFFIC STOP WAS CONDUCTED ON THE LISTED VEHICL AND THE PASSENGER GAVE OFFICERS A FALSE NAME AND DATE OF BIRTH. THE INDIVIDUAL WAS IDENTIFIED AS PENNY YBARRA. 44 YEARS-OF-AGE.

THE INVESTIGATION REVEALED THAT YBARRA HAD A WARRANT FOR FALSE IDENTIFICATION, AND OFFICERS FOUND YBARRA TO BE IN POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE. YBARRA WAS CHARGED AND ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE “STATE JAIL FELONY, FALSE IDENTIFICATION-FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE “CLASS A MISDEMEANOR.

 

ON SEPTEMBER 18, 2017 AT APPROXIMATLEY 12:27PM OPD OFFICERS OBSERVED A RED 2000 FORD EXPLORERE TRAVELING NORTHBOUND IN THE 700 BLOCK OF NORTH HILLCREST WITH AN EXPIRED REGISTRATION.

A TRAFFIC STOP WAS CONDUCTED ON THE LISTED VEHICLE AND THE DRIVER WAS IDENTIFIED AS TESSA ROSE SENN, 24 YEARS OF AGE. OFFICERS COULD SMELL AN ODOR OF MARIJUANA COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. WHEN SENN EXITED THE VEHICLE, SHE THREW A LIGHT A TWO BAGS ONTO THE GROUND. THE BAGS ONCTAINED MULTIPLE ECTASY PILLS AND METHAMPHETAMINE. SENN WAS ALSO FOUND TO BE IN POSSESSION OF APPROXIMATELY 24.7 GRAMS OF MARIJUANA, AND APPROXIMATELY 43.94 GRAMS OF METHAMPHETAIME AND A DIGITAL SCALE.

TESSA ROSE SENN WAS CHARGED AND ARRESTED AND TRANSPORTED TO THE ECTOR COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER.

 

ON JULY 13,2017, ODESSA POLICE RESPONDED TO CIELO VISTA APPARTMENTS LOCATED AT 2320 EAST 21ST STREET. OFFICER MADE CONTACT WITH THE COMPLAINANT, WHO REPORTED THAT FOUR FEMALE SUBJECTS ENTRED HER RESIDENCE WITHOUT PERMISSION AND ASSAULTED HER.

ONE OF THE SUSPECTS WAS IDENTIFED AS KIARA DAVIS, 28 YEARS-OF-AGE. DAVIS WAS CHARGED AND ARRESTED WITH BURGLARY OF A HABITATION (WARRANT) “2ND DEGREE FELONY” AND TRANSPORTED TO THE ECTOR COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER. THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.

 

ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2017, AT APPROXIMATELY 4:06AM OFFICERS OBSERVED A BLUE 1998 ACURA TRAVELING IN THE AREA OF 31ST AND ANDREWS HIGHWAY WITH AN EXPIRED REGISTRATION.

A TRAFFIC STOP WAS CONDUCTED ON THE VEHICLE AND THE DRIVER WAS IDENTIFIED AS ISRAEL DELACRUZ CASTILLO, 41 YEARS OF AGE.

OFFICERS FOUND CASTILLO IN POSSESION OF METHAMPHETAMINE. CASTILLO WAS CHARGED AND ARRESTED FOR POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE “STATE JAIL FELONY” AND DRIVING WHILE LICENSE INVALID WITH A PRIOR CONVICTION “CLASS B MISDEMEANOR”.

ISRAEL DELACRUZ CASTILLO WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE ECTOR COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER.

 

ON SEPTEMBER 19, 2017 AT APPROXIMATELY 12:12AM OFFICERS OBSERVED A MOTORCYCLE TRAVELING NORTHBOUND IN THE 200 BLOCK OF NORTH COUNTY ROAD WEST AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED.

OPD OFFICERS CAUGHT UP TO THE MOTORCYCLE, WHICH CONTINUED NORTHBOUND ON NORTH COUNTY ROAD WEST, AND RUNNING THE RED LIGHT AT UNIVERSITY. OFFICERS ATTEMPTED TO ACTIVATE THEIR LIGHTS AND SIRENS, BUT THE VEHICLE REFUSED TO STOP AS IT TURNED ON TO KERMIT HIGHWAY. THE DRIVER OF THE MOTORCYCLE LOST CONTROL AND CRASHED.

ZABDIEL SALAZAR, 24 YEARS OF AGE SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES, AND WAS NOT TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL. SALAZAR WAS IN POSSESSION OF A BAT, WHICH IS A PROHIBITED WEAPON. SALAZAR WAS CHARGED AND ARRESTED FOR EVADING ARREST WITH A MOTOR VEHICLE “3RD DEGREE FELONY” AND PROHIBITED WEAPON “CLASS A MISDEMEANOR”. SALAZAR WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE ECTOR COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT CENTER.
