MIDLAND, TEXAS/JANUARY 5, 2021-ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 5TH REPRESENTATIVES WITH MIDLAND COUNTY AND THE CITY OF MIDLAND GATHERED AT THE MIDLAND FARMERS CO-OP TO UNVEIL THE NEW AND MUCH IMPROVED FAIRGROUNDS ROAD.

THE RE-BUILD OF FAIRGROUNDS ROAD BEGAN AT GARDEN CITY HIGHWAY TO THE RAILROAD TRACKS AT FAIRGROUNDS ROAD AND FRONT STREET. THE 1.65 MILE ROAD PROJECT COST TO THE CITY OF MIDLAND AND MIDLAND COUNTY 2.6 MILLION DOLLARS AND TOOK 9 TO 10 MONTHS TO COMPLETE.

ONE OF THE CHALLENGES IN THE RE-CONSTRUCTION OF FAIRGROUNDS ROAD IS THAT THE ROAD IS OWNED BY THE CITY COUNTY AND STATE.

MIDLAND COUNTY JUDGE TERRY JOHNSON SAID THAT PRIOR TO THE REBUILD OF FAIRGROUNDS ROAD LOOK LIKE A “WAR ZONE”

THE COOPERATION BETWEEN MIDLAND COUNTY AND THE CITY OF MIDLAND HELPS THE OIL AND GAS ECONOMY AND OTHER BUSINESSES BY INVESTING TAX DOLLARS IN REBUILDING  BETTER AND A SAFER ROADS.
