ON SUNDAY, MAY 6TH AT APPROXIMATELY 11:50PM, AN ECTOR COUNTY DEPUTY OBSERVED A YELLOW AND BLACK CAMERO FAIL TO STOP AT A REDLIGHT AT NORTH EAST LOOP 338 AND JBS PARKWAY.

THE OFFICER ATTEMPTED TO STOP THE VEHICLE; THE SUSPECT EVADED AT A HIGH RATE OF SPEED AND DRIVING INTO TOWN AND DISREGARDING STOP SIGNS AND TRAFFIC LIGHTS.

THE SUPECT VEHICLE TURNED ONTO A DEAD-END STREET ON LIBERTY PLACE. OFFICERS ATTEMPTED TO BOX THE VEHICLE IN, WHEN THE SUSPECT VEHICLE RAMMED INTO ONE OF THE PATROL UNITS AND ELUDED OFFICERS.

THE PURSUIT WAS TERMINATED, BUT OFFICERS DETERMINED THE DRIVE TO BE JOHN ALEX ELLSWORTH, 23-YEARS-OF-AGE. ELLSWORTH HAD AN OUTSTANDING WARRANT FOR MOTION TO ADJUDICATE GUILT, AND A FAILURE TO APPEAR WARRANT FOR POSSESSION OF COCAINE.

OPD FOUND THE SUSPECT VEHICLE ABANDONED IN THE 3800 BLOCK OF BOWIE AVE.

ELLSWORTH NOW FACES ADDITIONAL CHARGES OF EVADING ARREST IN A MOTOR VEHICLE, FELONY-3.
