DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(052821)-NEW PROGRAM AT MISD TO BENEFIT TEACHERS & STUDENTS

MIDLAND, TEXAS/MAY 28, 2021-EIGHT CAMPUSES, 6 ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND 2 SECONDARY SCHOOLS WITH MIDLAND ISD ARE USING A PROGRAM CALLED “OPPORTUNITY CULTURE’. THIS PROGRAM EXPANDS THE REACH OF TEACHERS TO OTHER GRADE LEVEL TEACHERS BY PROVIDING SUPPORT AND CONSISTANCY THAT BENEFITS THE EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF STUDENTS.

THE “OPPORTUNITY CULTURE” PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO FIT THE NEEDS OF PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS IN MIDLAND. DATA SHOWS THAT MULTI CLASSROOM LEADERS ASSISTING OTHER TEACHERS IS IMPORVING STUDENT EDUCATIONAL PERFORMANCE.

THE “OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM” ENCOURAGES TEACHERS TO STAY IN THE CLASSROOM AND NOT TAKE ADMINISTRATIVE JOBS WITH THE MISD SCHOOL DISTRICT. TEACHERS WHO STAY IN PROGRAM HELP WITH THE EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES OF STUDENTS.

LANGUAGE ARTS TEACHERS HAVE A NORMAL DAY WITH THEIR STUDENTS, THEN WILL HELP OTHER TEACHERS BY CREATING SMALLER GROUPS TO FOCUS ON THE EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF THE STUDENT.

MIDLAND ISD WILL ADD 6 MORE ELEMENTARY AND 2 MORE SECONDAY SCHOOLS TO THE “OPPORTUNITY CULTURE” PROGRAM IN THE NEW 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR.
