ECTOR COUNTY/ODESSA, TEXAS/JUNE 5, 2019-THE ECTOR COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE HELD IT’S FIRST ANNUAL AWARDS PRESENTATION 2019 AT THE ECTOR COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT. THE PURPOSE OF THE CEREMONY IS TO RECOGNIZE OFFICERS WITHIN THE SHERIFF’S OFFICE, WHO HAVE RISKED THEIR LIVES TO PROTECT THE CITIZENS OF ECTOR COUNTY.

MOST NOTABLE AWARDS WERE PRESENTED TO MILTON THARP, CHIEF OF THE RESERVE UNIT AND TO HENRY CLARK FOR HIS COUNTLESS HOURS SERVING AT PUBLIC EVENTS AND WORKING SECURITY AT THE ECTOR COUNTY COURTHOUSE.

ROY AND CANDRA PICKETT, RESIDENTS OF ECTOR COUNTY ALSO RECEIVED RECOGNITION AND AN AWARD FROM THE ECTOR COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE. THE COUPLE PROVIDED ASSISTANCE TO 4 CHILDREN, AGES RANGING FROM 1 TO 6, DURING A HOSTILE SITUATION.

JAVIER LEYVA, AN INVESTIGATOR WITH THE ECTOR COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE RECIEVED THE PURPLE HEART AWARD FOR HIS BRAVERY DURING A DEADLY CONDUCT CHARGE ON A SUBJECT.
