ODESSA, TEXAS/JUNE 13, 2019-ODESSA COLLEGE HOSTED THE FIRST SESSION OF THE FUN AND EDUCATIONAL SUMMER ROBOTICS WORKSHOP AND COMPETITION AT THE ELECTRONICS TECHNOLOGY BUILDING. STUDENTS AGES 9 THRU 15 ENGAGED IN ROBOTICS LEARNING PROGRAMING AND CODING. (ARMIN RASHVAND, DEPARTMENT CHAIR FOR ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY-ODESSA COLLEGE) THE ROBOTICS WORKSHOP AND COMPETITION EXPOSES THE STUDENTS TO AUTOMATION AND ENGINEERING. AND A PREVIEW OF THE IMPORTANCE OF AUTOMATION IN THE WORKFORCE. THE PARTICIPANTS ALSO HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPLORE CAREERS IN THE STEM FIELD, WHICH IS SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS.
