ODESSA, TEXAS/OCTOBER 7, 2019-ON MONDAY AFTERNOON, OCTOBER 7TH, 2019, ECTOR COUNTY ISD POLICE ARRESTED A FEMALE STUDENT FROM BOWIE MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR POSTING MESSAGES TWICE ON SOCIAL MEDIA FOR THREATENING TO SHOOT UP SCHOOLS. THE SNAPCHAT THREATS TARGETED BOWIE MIDDLE SCHOOL AND WILSON & YOUNG MEDAL OF HONOR MIDDLE SCHOOL. THE STUDENT FACES TWO CHARGES OF TERRORISTIC THREAT A THIRD-DEGREE FELONY, AFTER ADMITTING SHE MADE THE TREATS ON SNAPCHAT. OFFICERS IDENTIFIED THE GIRL WITH THE HELP OF A CRIME STOPPERS TIP. ECISD POLICE PARTNERED WITH OTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES TO ASSIT IN THE INVESTIGATION. THAT POLICY HAS BEEN LIFTED DUE TO THE RESENT SHOOTINGS IN ODESSA AND ECTOR COUNTY.
