DRB MEDIA COMMUNICATIONS DIGITAL NEWS(121919)-2CAR PEDESTRIAN CRASH IN NORTH ODESSA-UPDATE

ODESSA, TEXAS/DECEMBER 19, 2019-ON WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 18TH AT APPROXIMATLEY 9:50 AM, ODESSA POLICE AND ODESSA FIRE RESCUE RESPONDED TO 42ND AND TOM GREEN IN REFERENCE TO A MAJOR CRASH INVOLVING 2 VEHICLES AND A PEDESTRIAN. A BLUE DODGE CARAVAN, OPERATED BY RENEE VINCENT, 54 YEARS OF AGE, WAS TRAVELING EASTBOUND ON 42ND STREET. A RED CHEVROLET COLORAD, OPERATED BY DANA GONZALEZ, 23 YEARS OF AGE, WAS TRAVELING WESTBOUND ON 42ND STREET ATTEMPTING TO TURN SOUTHBOUND ONTO TOM GREEN. A PEDESTRIAN, LATER IDENTIFIED AS ABLA ALMAIAH, 53 YEARS OF AGE, WAS ATTEMPTING TO WALK EASTBOUND ACROSS TOM GREEN AT A CROSSWALK. DANA GONZALEZ FAILED TO YIELD THE RIGHT OF WAY AND WAS STRUCK BY THE DODGE CARAVAN, CAUSING THE CHEVROLET COLORADO TO THEN STRIKE THE PEDESTRIAN. ALMAIAH, WAS TRANSPORTED TO THE HOSPITAL AND LATER AIR-LIFTED TO LUBBOCK WITH LIFE-THREATENING INJURIES. ALMAIAH IS CURRENTLY LISTED AS BEING IN CRITICAL CONDITION. NO REPORTS OF ANY OTHER INJURIES. THE INVESTIGATION CONTINUES.
